Izzie lost weight when she was sick, and she gained some of it back, but she still seems to skinny to me. I can feel her spine bone super easy, and I can't feel Bella's. Bella has much thicker skin and fur than Izzie, but still. She is 6 months old, and I am gonna get her weighed today. On my kitchen scale, which isn't digital, she shakes so it shakes, she's between 3 lbs and 3 lbs 2 oz I think. I am not sure cuz it moves so much! What do you guys think? I'm uploading a video of her walking around where you can see better. It may take a lil while though. Any tips on making her gain? And I am pretty sure Bella is at a perfect body shape, but just to make sure... ETA- Here's the video.

The best way to judge it to look at her from above and also feeling if her bones are prominent (which you've said they are). These sort of diagrams are a good way to judge body condition: Its hard to tell because Izzie is black but I'd say she is a little bit under. I have the same problem with Kiki because she has such a high metabolism. You could try upping Izzie's food. I've had to keep doing that for Kiki until she can remain at a nice size. I'm also giving her (and the other two) green tripe because its supposed to help them put on weight.

Yeah, I don't really limit her food right now, but she doesn't eat a ton. She eats maybe max 10 kibbles at a time. I will get some raw this weekend, which she loves. She hasn't had some since she's been sick.

I think she does look a little bit underweight to me, but nothing to be overly concerned about. Roo has the same body type and I always feel like she is too thin too, but my vet said she is fine. If she loves raw, I'd try her on that then for sure. Kibble isn't nearly as appealing. Good luck.

I agree with Lucy! I would try adding stuff to her food to make it mre appetising for her

K I weighed her, she is 3 lbs 2 oz. She was 3.2 lbs before she got sick. So she still hasn't full gained it all back, but close.

I don't think she looks underweight. I wouldn't let her get any thinner, but at 6 months, most puppies have that kind of gangly teenager look. She will fit out in time. As long as her ribs or spine aren't showing, I wouldn't worry about it. You can add in some extras to help her eat more but that often backfires and creates a picky eater. I'd probably just increase her normal ration and save the add ins until you really need them.

Her spine is showing. but not her ribs. It's hard to tell, cuz she is black. I know all dogs are built differently, but I can't feel Bella's spine very easily, but I can definitely feel Izzie's very well, it kinda sticks out. Oh, and her hips seem really boney too, I can feel them well.
