Paige was very underweight when I got her. She was 2lb 10 oz I think. I managed to get weight on her with taste of the wild dried food. And have since got another 1/2 lb on her since on raw. I gave her plenty of mince beef which seems to have helped the most. She's 4 1/2 lb now. Maybe if you didn't free feed he would eat a good amount at meal times instead of just picking through the day? Glad he's 100% otherwise!! Xx Thanks Rachel. Oh I haven't tried taste of the wild. Is it readily available? Beef mince sounds like a good idea too... I'd forgotten Harry's very partial to it. I have thought about trying to limit his meals, but it's difficult because that's the way the breeder brought him up, and also our cats always have food available, so he'd just start stealing more cat food instead of eating his own, I think.

Tripe works!! Cooked or Raw although I wouldn't recommend cooking it unless you have an outside stove hahaha it doesn't smell to bad raw Oh yes I forgot about that conversation haha I actually think it's quite commen in all breeds as people don't seem to care about it

His tummy probably gets full ... so you need to figure out a higher calorie food that will take up the same space in his tummy. Not sure what you can get there tho...

Ive two skinnies and one chubba (bless) but ive been adding 'Super Solvitax' pure cod liver oil (you can buy from your pet shop) it is for animals and says on the bottle that its a 'natural conditioner'. I feed it to both of my thin guys mixed in with their favorite foods topped with just a little grated cheese and they eat it ok. My other girl licks the side of the bottle as she would lap it up on its own, but sods law she is the chunky one that does'nt need it.

I'm not really so worried about Harry's skin and coat condition, as they seem ok. But I can see how giving the oil might help if it encourages cheese eating, lol! However, Harry loves cheese already without needing any enticement... jarlsberg is his favourite!

Ive been adding the oil for three weeks and the difference is amazing. I weigh them every week so I know its working as ive changed nothing else. They have both put on weight while still receiving the same amount of food which is great. I decided on trying the oil after being told of its use for weight gain and not just for its coat and skin beneifs but saying that they do look to have more bloom. I just use the cheese as a tempter to get them to eat it in their normal food. The downside is the fishy breath but wierdly its growing on me and I'm starting to quite like it lol.

Oh no! I could defo not get to like fishy breath, lol! That is interesting though that they've been putting on weight... sounds like something that might be worth looking in to, thanks for that.
