Also does Bryco do ok with the chicken? I know he had a problem with it at one point. I'm wondering if they would be ok for Pip.

yep - he does fine w/ it, I think what he had a problem w/ was preservatives...just so happened that all the foods I tried w/ chicken...also had preservatives. He can't have cheese still, but that seems to be his only real allergy.

My guys don't really get many chews they some times have rawhide (yes I know) but they have always been fine with it and they love it they also have tripe stick and paddy wack (what ever that is) says its good for cleaning teeth so I got it haha they also have pigs ears too. I went to order some ostrich tendons but they were all sold out! Then sarah tells me she ordered like 10 packets!!!! Thanks a lot

I wish we could get the ostrich tendons here. Paula, can't help really with long lasting chews. Have you tried the antlers? Or the himalayan cheese chews? Those are both long lasting. But for Brody, he lost interest in them pretty quick. He still likes his bully sticks the best. I usually give them to him frozen. I don't leave them out. Then he thinks they are a treat when he gets one and maybe the extra freezing helps them take longer to get through. If he's really working on it and vigorous, he chews about an inch or so off of one over an hour or so. When they get down to about 2 inches, I throw them away. I need to order some more Konas chips. They are a favorite and I haven't bought any in awhile. A great snack because they are just plain old chicken, nothing added. Have you considered doing a raw meaty bone? Like a soup bone? You could get one that doesn't have much meat on it (less mess) and then poke out the marrow. (I don't feed that as it's 100% fat). They might have a lot of fun working on one. I would say to skip it if they are super vigorous chewers, but I don't think yours are? Brody loves them. It takes him a couple of hours to get off all the meat and connective tissue and then he really scrapes and gnaws on the bone. After it's all dried out, I throw it away.

The ostrich is awe-some. But we can't get it here The odor free bullies last longer than the stinky ones I think, but that's the longest lasting chew I've really found, everything else they just...eat! The Himalayan cheese chews they seem to like, but two of mine are such strong chewers that they'd bite it in half and choke each half down before I knew what was happening, and they are REALLY hard chews! So tons of calories and no chewing ha ha ha. But worth a try if you don't have Jaws and King Kong around (Oakley has them in our room where the other dogs don't get to go, and she delicately nibbles on them for quite a long time). I sometimes get them tendons, but again, they just eat those...and depending on where you get them, sometimes they smell ter-r-r-r-r-r-rible. They also love the Dr Harvey's sweet potato chews, but again, they eat it, and it's gone. Those take them a few minutes but really more of a treat. The Primal Venison Lung they LOVE, and have to chew it a bit but same...just gone after a few min. But they LOVE it, I forgot to add that on my original post. It's hard to find something they don't just eat, but that is also safe! All of mine would be fine with rawhide but Trigger, and because we have Trigger, we can't have ANY. He somehow swallows the stuff whole, and then I am freaked out about a blockage:( The rest just nibble and never get anywhere on them lol.

Thanks for the suggestions Tracy and Kristi. Seems like bullies are the main good option for a long lasting chew then. I was just wondering if I was missing something. Do either of you (or anyone else) ever use the braided ones from Best Bullies? Or do you mainly just get the basic straight chews? Are there others on Best Bullies you use? Tracy - I have never used a RMB, no. Mine are not power chewers at all, no. Pip will stick with it for ages, but Roo tends to wait until Pip gets something started and then waits for him to abandon it. LOL. Where do you get the antlers? I saw they have some small ones on Best Bully Sticks. I don't know if those are what you mean though? Kristi - I'm going to try the kona chips and the sweet potato chews. Just hope they don't make Roo's anal glands act up. I don't know why, but it seems any food change gets them acting up.
