Did a bit of searching and managed to find an orthopedic vet that I like and Tyson had his appointment today. Sort of good news...yes he has LP but the vet assessed his walking, knees etc and feels that he has grade 2/3 but he is in no pain and is walking well. He does not recommend surgery at the present time, carry on with the glucosamine etc and although he may need surgery at a later date there is also the chance he may not, so he will continue to monitor him at his normal visits. Nice to find a vet who is not just after making money

That's great news! I'm so glad to hear it. Here's hoping he continues to do well and never needs the surgery. Thanks for letting us know how it went!

Aw poor Tyson! But atleast now you know what it deifnitely is, aware of the situation and can monitor it accordingly. Its great news that its not causing him too much, if any, discomfort!
As you said, definitely good to find someone who's not just after the money!

Great! I'd keep up the supplements, keep him lean, and hopefully you can avoid a surgery!

Great news Peppi has exact same grade as Tyson – 2/3 and she is walking fine and is in no pain. It has been almost two years since we went to the orthopaedic specialist and he said exact same thing as your vet.

I agree and would only do surgery if he's in pain! My guess is when you heard him yelp he just took a corner too fast and then it did hurt him a bit...but hopefully he's just fine. So glad you got some good news
