ALL THE TIME! I think that they believe that little dogs (purse pets as my co-workers call them) belong to the rich and famous since it is seen so much on television.
I let them know that my dogs are "program rejects" as one has an underbite and the other the floppy ears. Then when I tell then what they still cost (just $500 each) they act shocked.
Then I about have to pick them up off the floor when I tell them that our best breeder (Ruby's) can fetch up to $3000 for a show dog and even up to $1500 for a pet quality puppy.
Our girls are purebred and for pets were a bargain if you ask me!

Yeah i have been asked a few times too. I dont kind if it's someone looking to get one. A man and his wife asked me in pets at home, and he thought that was crazy money, but i told him dodgy byb charge more so to be careful who they approach. I do think sometimes it's a bit sus as if they are thinking oh so they would be worth a reward or of course the whole breeding thing. I always say mine are all spayed and neutered cause they also ask if i am going to breed, especially Darla. People are just really nosey at times eh. I would never think to ask anyone how much anything was, especially if they were a perfect stranger in the street! lol
