I had Brody neutered at 6 months. He was still squatting to urinate. He actually JUST started marking outside and he's almost 3 and I'm sure that is because we are going for walks now and he is smelling where everyone else went. But if he really has to go, he still squats. I prefer that actually! I think leg lifting everywhere on a walk is obnoxious and I allow him a couple times but I don't let him stop and mark every leaf and bush along the way like he thinks he should. ha ha. It's really a matter of what you want to put up with on the humping. Some people are laid back and think it's funny and some people are shocked. LOL. I personally don't like it so if I saw Brody hump a toy, I'd clap my hands and say NO really loud and disapproving and take the toy away. It only took a couple times and he realized that wasn't allowed. Now he never humps anything. So just train him not to do it and get him neutered at 6 months and all will be fine. You have an intact boxer, does he hump? Mark? I think that little dogs are just more inclined to do those things than big dogs for some reason.

I definitely don't want him humping. Winston has never humped and he doesn't mark other than peeing over the top of where the other dogs have peed outside. haha

I would not neuter before 6-7 months again. I wish I had waited on Trigger but I couldn't believe he was lifting his leg so early! Its best for them to have the hormones to develop a little, for their bodies inside and out. Neutered males tend to grow taller and longer than their unaltered counterparts. I have read this several places and also had it confirmed by breeders. Their bodies need the hormones to tell their growth plates what to do. That said, it sure is a hassle to deal with a "boy" and I feel like waiting longer than 6-7 months might start setting in behaviors you don't want. Ideally I'd wait til 11-12 months, but that's just me.

LMAO! Oh Finn! What is it with those loofah toys? They like blowup dolls for Chis bahahahahahaha Kiki humped the toys and I got her out of it by doing the same thing as Tracy, clapping my hands and saying no. She hardly ever does it with toys now that she has Chaos head I don't think its anything sexual as it seems way too early for that! Gambit was "done" at 6 months and he doesn't show any sexual behaviour, however he does occasionally lift his leg to pee lol, he does not mark though. Chaos was neutered at 13 weeks (obviously not by choice) and he's never really humped, well he tried it with Kiki once lol. And when we're at Sarah's he lifts his leg to pee but not mark. I think you're just better off making a loud distracting noise and he won't do it anymore

I will get him done no later than 6 mos i dont' want to chance him marking in the house or anything. Plus I have an unaltered male boxer and i don't want there to be any issues there. Thank God both my girls are fixed!!

LOL Dillon was neutered at 7 months but still does the humpety bumpety now and then. haha!! Today he was trying to do it to Daisy and i put my arm in the way to get him to move and he wrapped his 2 front legs tight around my arm and humped that instead. I think he was just trying to dominate since Daisy is a bit sore on her paws so he took advantage. It doesnt really bother me, but i dont let him go at it too long. Luckily he has never lifted his leg to pee, he just stands with a goofy look on his face. lol x
