Great thread, Kristi. Do you prefer the spray over the gel? In reviews people always seems to say the gel works faster/better than the spray. Do you not find this to be true?
I have the gel too, but really haven't used it. Since mine don't have any noticeable plaque or tarter, the spray works fine for maintenance at least, but I have wondered that too about the gel vs spray. I think it depends on how you use it, too...if you follow the directions, I'd bet they both work fairly well, but the spray really should only be used on "inactive" mouths. I used the tropiclean gel before and that worked decently well as well, I just prefer the Petzlife for whatever reason I use the Petzlife brand too, but I use the gel, only because in the reviews people said it worked faster than the spray. I've no idea if that's true though since I've never used the spray. Since yours have great teeth, I guess you wouldn't be able to tell a difference between the two. I prefer the Tropiclean gel applicator though, it's much better than the petzlife squeeze tube. I actually transferred the petzlife gelto the tropiclean applicator once it was empty.

Oh and he is raw fed Roo hates the gel too. lol. she makes the most hilarious face when I use it. I can use it no problem on her though. I'm still having massive problems brushing her teeth though. She hates it and buries her head and puts her paws over the sides of her face trying to get away from the brush. So still working on her. Pip lets me brush with no problem at all now. I wish Roo was the same.

As I am brushing Rockys teeth every evening, I just brush them with water. I think it does a big difference to his teeth and I am happy I started early enough for him to get used to

I would suggest using toothpaste as water won't get the plaque off! Think about how your mouth would feel if you brushed with just water??

Ok so I have this www.vetuk.co.uk/pet-dental-care-c-11/cet-toothpaste-and-toothbrush-kits-p-757and I am a bit naughty and I just brush one, they boil the toothbrush and use it again and brush the next one and repeat. I noticed Kristi that you're using a Dora toothbrush lol in the video of Trigger so was going to ask, do you still use the regular kids ones or do all of yours have the special doggy toothbrushes? I want to order one each but its a bit pointless paying money for the double ended ones when we only use the small end anyway! Also, I can't findthe Tropiclean water additive over here, only the Tropiclean gel. I don't think we can get petzlife either so can you recommend what I should be using? lol Right now, they get their teeth brushed and they get their rmb's.

It makes brushing his teeth a lot easier. He even tries to lick the cap. lol. Roo likes the toothpaste smell, but hates the brushing.
