I know I'm going on and on about it, but I feel bad that I can't run right out and fix this atm. It will get done just not tomorrow. Kristi, I don't know if she's ever seen a chewie but I stocked up today. Have you had any luck with chews helping baby teeth to fall out? Got the each a bully, a pigs tail, a tendon of some sort (which they love!) and a detal type chew. They are stocked for some time now Hope Zoe loses some teeth! Or at least gets some of the tartar off.

I have pulled many baby teeth with pliers. That said, I don't recommend anyone else try it, I probably should not do it myself. When I was "learning", Trig was a baby and o.m.g. I split one in two and couldn't get it out and he wailed for ages...I got a bunch of his out, though. W/ the girls I had a lot of good luck, got a lot of teeth out. Leah only had to go under anesthesia once to get baby teeth pulled; Ivy had to go under twice. That said, they could have had to go under about 4x each to keep their bites as best they could be, had I not pulled a bunch w/ pliers. Since Zoey is older I'm just not sure that would work -- or what to recommend, other than what you've done...chewies, Petzlife spray, introducing her to brushing. Possibly giving her some pork or softer beef bones may help get them out but it really depends on if they are attached to her jaw bone or not.

Is it a cost issue to get a dental? You might call around because some vets do it a lot cheaper, or may give you a discount if you explain her situation. I know I don't generally have the $600+ sitting around my vet wants for a dental (crazy greedy turds!).

How is she with the chewies? Is she taking to eating them or is she sat there wondering what the hell they are? Have any photos of her teeth? xx

Since she is just coming out of heat now, you should wait at least 6-8 weeks before having her spayed and you probably can wait 3-4 months...I'm wondering if you wait that long, you could set aside extra $ to take care of her teeth in the same op/anesthesia swoop haha. They can pull any bad teeth, clean up the ones that are there, and spay her all in a matter of 10-15 minutes...which I would say is worth it rather than having to have her put under twice.

hi , i have just had Jeanies teeth out it cost me with consultation about 200 pound. she had xrays-stitches ect... the said they is 1 in a 7000 chance of a problem under anesthetic. she had 2 retained long canines.
up to you what you want to do but if the teeth are not comming out naturlly then they are set deep and best get a vet to remove as they are nurves and blood vessels in there and the bleeding could be hurendus and painfull ! plus it could hinder the other adult teeth from comming down in the correct place, in chis it is a common problem to retain teeth/aliment and have issues.
shop around at vets for a quote first to get the best price x
hope this helps ... best wishes x

Is it safe to get a dental the same time they have surgery? I was told it wasn't due to the bacteria from their teeth and under the gums entering the bloodstream. I was told it was a bad mix and it seems possible, I guess? Have you ever heard of that?
