I find this odd.... Lately (about 10 days) I've been feeding only Ziwipeak and Stella and Chewy's for breakfast and dinner. I've been busy and I'm just not up for the task of thawing those 5 pound chubs and dividing up the Hare Today grinds or grocery store meats. This weekend I'll get to it. Anyways, I've noticed such a big difference with the ZP poop vs the SC poop. I thought when I started giving them the SC that their poops would be bigger because of the fruits and veggies, but it's the opposite! The ZP poop is bigger! Why?? Is it just because it's dehydrated? It doesn't have any fruits or veggie to bulk it up. I just thought it is odd. Anyone else notice this or have a thought as to why???

I have noticed that too ... the fruits/veggies are so minimal in S & C I think they don't matter much or add bulk, its 5%. Ziwi poops are always much bigger and IMO they don't disintegrate at all. I love the S & C lol. We feed it probably more than I should.

Maybe it's because the S&C is more "pure", as in, less is done to it (just ground?). Whereas the ZP is ground, mashed, dehydrated... I wonder if you soaked it til it was a mush instead if it would be so different? Who knows. Cooking is cooking IMO & the ZP is not raw to me (we have it for emergenies, so not dissing it, just it isn't as good as raw to me).

I've also noticed some big poopies but I'm wondering if it's because I over feed the ZP? I probably feed more at a time than I should when we do feed it just because they don't require a lot of it at a time so I think I need to feed more than I actually do? I dunno...just a thought?

Kristi- I'm glad it's not just my dogs. Lol! I don't think it would disintegrate either. I am extremely happy with SC. It's a new favorite around here for sure! Kelly- Yeah, I don't consider ZP to be a real raw either, but I do think it's the next best thing! I think it's just weird that an air dried food with no extras added in would produce bigger poops. I guess the process of making little squares and dehydrating is the reason. :/

Idk Heather. I measure their ZP and their poops are "big", so your probably not over feeding your cuties. I think it's just the ZP.

I agree that ZP produces larger stools than S&C! We have been feeding a combination of these two foods over the last 2 weeks as we were moving/traveling. I have been picking up poops twice a day and while the frequency hasn't increased (he usually goes 1-2 times a day and it's been twice every day for the last two weeks), the size has increased.
On a side note.... the other day a gal at one of the bank drive thru's gave Brody a milk bone dog biscuit. One of the little ones. He didn't want it at first but he did end up eating it all. OMG. The poop after he ate that dog biscuit was HUMONGOUS! Like twice as big as a regular poop. I couldn't believe it. It just kept coming. Gross! I'm used to little raw poops!!!
Can't wait till we are more settled and go shopping and I can stock up my freezer again.

Aw poor Brody!!! He was probably shocked at what was coming out of his bum. Lol! It's funny how he didn't want the biscuit at first. I bet he can't wait for freezer full of yummies too!
