Alfie's coat is naturally silky and since I switched him to ZiwipeaK he has been shiny without much effort from me. Badger's coat is rougher and fluffier in texture, and because it is so ridiculously thick it needs some help to stay smooth and tangle-free.
I have been using Groomers evening primrose puppy shampoo on them, and also this great apricot & keratin conditioner from Petcetera, which really helps tame Badger's coat and leaves them both smelling of yummy apricots!
I have also been using The Stuff on them, after having it recommended ages ago, which is supposed to protect the hair against dirt and leave it smoother. However, it does leave a residue on the fur so assume it would be a no-no to use before a show? I therefore only use it after normal bathing and didn't use before showing.

Lots of people use stuff. Just have to be v careful as we don't know what's gonna happen with coat testing. It's a case of if you get the CC and test positive for a product in the coat you'll loose that CC

I wonder how far it goes though? I mean, technically speaking anything that you have used - shampoo, conditioner etc. - will leave sone residue on the hair, would that result in a disqualification? I need to read up on it more I guess.

Yeah, I do think diet has a lot to do with it as does gentics. We just feed raw, I add either salmon or coconut oil in 3-4 times a week, Nupro 2-3 times a week & that's it really. Mari is naturally silky...Lulu I don't think will be as silky but she'll have more coat I believe. Just different genes. I have started using pure paws too per recommendation of Kristi...I LOVE the conditioner! I can't believe you guys would get disqualified for having finishing spray in coats though. You can't even tell anything is in the coat when they're dry. And yeah I'd think any shampoo would leave some sort of residue? How odd...

Yes its ridiculous it says anything buy water which would mean shampoo etc! It's absolutely ridiculous. Ok we don't groom like the US does but disqualifying someone for using shampoo with silicone in is stupid.
