So you lot with long hairs, your doggies hair is gorgeous! So what's your secret? Since Pixel has had her op her hair has gone all lank and smelly. I have bathed her and I brush her but it's just not as nice your lot lots - their hair is amazing! I miss Pixels lovely soft fluffy hair So how do you do it?

I dont have a lc, well Rogue is lol but her coat while be a while coming in, but I believe a lot of it is to do with diet. Also, what shampoo are you using? Do you use conditioner?
If she's been poorly then I think it could have an effect on the coat. Do you give supplements?

Yes prior to all her problems her coat was lustrous and shiny - but never as 'fluffy' as the long coats I see on here.
She has salmon oil and glucosamine right now, I am considering a multi-vit but not decided on what exactly to do with diet at the mo.
I use pet head on her, no conditioner.
OH and her diet has changed to include a dog food (premade) as I was advised to do on here - it is full of vitamins - added ones.

Which food are you feeding I'm gonna be a big head and say my girls have lovely coats lmao they are so soft ahhh love them partially it's diet (I'm a raw nazi ) and I'm an oil obsessive I give evening primrose salmon cod liver olive and yumega oh and coconut and sometimes I coat them in coconut oil! I'm using the coatex aloe and oatmeal Hollie recommended (in reviews section) as leilani was itching like made and her puppy coat needs to be replaced with an adult one! Also part of it is to do with genetics I'm sure some don't have a silky coat all mine do I don't know what's behind daisy and her mum is a smooth (not that that matters butnit explains why I don't know her past ) I would get her on a good diet... Some supplements and use a moisturising shampoo once she's recovered she will get back to her normal self! Also remember most the LC on here are older than pixel so their coats will be fuller. Also I find my girls coats are nicer in winter

Yes I was also going to say that it can be down to genetics. Some dogs just don't have the genes for those bigs coats! I've seen lc chihuahuas that look like smooths but with a bit of ear fringe!

Anesthesia is very hard on their coats. Tabitha's looks dull and brittle at the moment. It will get better in time

Oh I never knew that Therese. Eva's was really rubbish at first, I thought it was just blowing cause of giving birth, but the Anaethetic from her ceaser/ spay must have made it worse. Oh well its nice now. I've stopped the oils atm cause I finding it hard to seep weight off her.
I like to brush often to make sure all the dead stuff is out so the new can grow, rubber brushes like the Kong Zoom Groom are good to masage the skin and get the blood to it.
Thats the only thing I can add without repeating what good advice everyone else has already given x

I dont really care if it gets huge, i love the big lc chi's but if hers isnt that big i'm not bothered as long as I can get it nice and soft looking. I will give the recommended shampoo a try and still considering diet
