They are really quite mellow, we have a hard time getting her moving around for 30 min in the AM and another 30 in the afternoon and another 30 in the evening!! Its ridiculous!! She really just wants to lay at our feet all day. You can't train large breed pups at agility until they are over a year b'c it can damage their bones but the breed is too big/heavy to really excel at that. He plans to do Rally with her though which will be fun!! She's puppyish but not at the same time. Doesn't run all over like a crazed kid on mountain dew like some pups do!
I don't really like tail docking either but it is what it is...I'm glad she doesn't have a tail lol.

Haha I do! I just say come here Hippo!! We think she may get some light brindling though but we won't know until she starts to get her adult coat in. Right now she feels like velvet but her adult coat will be quite coarse. They shed very very minimally too.

She has a very sweet face and expression!
What health problems does the breed have? I would assume hip dysplasia? Any skin/coat problems with the greys (blues)?
Do they have a wet mouth? Drool?
I love learning about different breeds.

She has tighter lips so she shouldn't drool TOO much but she will a bit LOL. The biggest problem w/ the breed is hip dysplasia. Her parents were tested for that, of course. They don't have the typical problems associated with 'being blue', but the breed as a general rule of thumb is more prone to demodex. We are feeding her half Acana Pacifica and half PMR, so I assume we will be much less likely to see problems with that than if we were feeding a corn or wheat based kibble product. They are also prone to gastric torsion/bloat. When she is grown and spayed, we will have her stomach tacked. The last thing is like most mastiff breeds they are prone to eyelid abnormalities. Overall though they are a pretty healthy breed and hip dysplasia is less of a problem in this breed than some other large breeds
