YES shes a lug! I can really not carry her but thankfully she has already learned to obey and follow on lead. She has not been free in the house off lead as we are potty training. She goes up and down stairs too so really we don't have to lift her save in and out of the tub for a bath and at first before we knew she'd do stairs hehe:)

What's the points for Colorado? What's the count for a major? Are there very many being shown? That will be fun for you guys to do conformation classes and shows together! You'll have a blast!

Only 4 are needed to make a major Tracy! A decent # are being shown but they have only been AKC for a few years.

Ohhhh no wonder why you've been so quiet! She is adorable & yeah...looks like a hippo!! LOL You know my feeling on bigger breeds known to be dog aggressive/aggressive being paired with smaller dogs but I totally trust you guys have done your homework & will be 100% responsible about it. You're more brave than I could ever be...I'll just say that. LOL She is adorable though & how exciting for Miles to have his own big dog to show! Very cool!!

I didn't say anything about it because we wanted to make our decision based off of talking to people who own and work with the breed but yep, we've been busy!!! We literally started looking into them a bit over a year ago and reading, researching, etc. and then were on a waiting list for a bit. She is from the original italian lines rather than some of the americanized lines.
Heather - LOL yeah that is part of why I was so hesitant to get her! The only reason I finally gave in was 1) she was temperament tested to have a low prey drive, 2) the breed itself is bred to be protective, not to kill or be aggressive (although way back when, they were used for hunting wild boar...I think everything was used to hunt at some point), and 3) we have the ability to socialize appropriately and to separate them any time not 100% supervised. So it will be ok.
I didn't feel like it was fair to keep telling hubby no you can't have your big dog, there were a few other breeds we looked into that I was totally not cool with, but the Corso really has awesome potential to be a fabulous, gentle pet. When she turns 1 I will start training her to jog with me...I'm so excited for that because NO ONE ain't gonna bother me when I have a 100 lb Corso on lead with me!
