Did you give any supplements Lucy? A well ballenced raw diet should be enough, but sometimes it's really hard to do that practically. I have a multivitamin powder and salmon oil to ease my mind that they are at least getting a range of vitamins and minerals. When I lived nowhere near a butcher it was really hard and Feo lived off chicken thighs from farm foods, the results werent as good as they are now I can get different things from the butcher. And Raw or no raw Feo seems to shed his body weight in fur constantly, I guess some dogs are just heavy shedders naturally.

Tracy why do you think I never saw the benefits as much as I should have? I remember asking you about it before and you said about chicken but from what I'm reading, a few people don't feed majority of red meat so I'm confused I'm going to take a picture when I sweep the floor tomorrow morning to show you all Kiki's fur. Its CRAZY how much comes off of her but its not like she's bald! Just wanted to say here: our 14 year old cat took a LONG TIME to shed out his old gross coat once switching to raw.. so maybe if the dog were on kibble for a longer time length, it would take longer to shed out the "bad" fur?

Lucy, did you supplement with salmon or fish oil? If you feed all grocery store meats (feedlot finished), then they are grain fed and not pasture fed and the meat is low in omega 3 fatty acids. Most raw feeders supplement with fish oil. I think that would help. Otherwise your menu looks varied and fine by me.

I was gonna say fish oil is needed!! I'll check for some cod liver ones in my favourIte shop (haha yeah I know) for you as I want some more of those too!! And get some salmon oil they do it cheap on eBay I'm using grisslys at the moment but the other oneni used before would be cheaper as you have 3 I think it was healthy hounds or something something with hounds blue label!!
Try giving Kiki some of that coconut oil too it made a different in my girls skin even though they were having fish oil and alternating cod, salmon, coconut with olive oil seems to have done a word of good they have always had very soft coats butnow they are like a little bit of heaven!!

My girls were always fed on kibble and rubbish meaty chews from pet shops and the odd table scraps! When i met Sarah on cp she soon put me right! haha Both girls had the most horrid stools which were producing 3-4 times a day! They never seemed bothered by their food.. it was like a effort for them to eat it! Now they are on Ziwipeak airdryed and canned and both girls go nuts for it!! lol Their stool volume has gone down to 1 day (still working on Lola!) and their coats seem so much more healthy and shiney! They dont have any crappy chews any more, they love ostritch tendons, cows ears and have some venison trachea for them to try when they finished with the one they already got. Oh and NO table scrapes!!! nothing not 1 crumb off me!!! So thanks Sarah for helping me lots!!! Just need to get the weight down off Lola now!
