Gah...I just saw all the nonsense with TLI on CP. I just don't get it -- a group of people decide TLI CAN'T accurately tell 'size' by pictures, and suddenly everyone else is a know-it-all? I know a lot of people like her. That's fine. But I think she is full of a load of shit when it comes to size. Apparently she's the only one allowed to have an opinion. Ya know what? At this point I am CERTAIN I know more about the chihuahua breed than she does, and I don't know all that much. I really don't think its worth even going there anymore...I like to talk and learn from others, not just say awwwww cute...gag. I don't think I was on the forum for that whole size thing, but still, no need for her to bring it into a completely different debate. I noticed too that the lady who left her dog in labor is now telling other people who are breeding to "PM her with questions incase you are afraid of the chi clique answering". Oh please. The whole thing is silly, just because someone doesn't say "Aww, puppies" doesn't mean they are a Know it all or a snob. I think breeding the right way and dedicating lots of time to learning about it means you truly want to better the breed. I like this forum better now after all of that  |

I don't answer questions on breeding technique...trust me, I have a TON myself! But I do know what KIND of dog should be bred. I actually don't have a problem with people producing nice typey pets, but they need to know their blood lines and health test. Is that so much to ask? Does it make me elitist that I want to see people held to a higher standard when it comes to precious tiny little lives? I guess it 'does'.
You didn't miss much on the whole size thing...it honestly isn't even worth recapping. It was soooo silly.
I dunno, the whole thing is just exhausting to me,..people are taking things personally but we aren't commenting on people's pets we are commenting on people's PREGNANT dogs and I'm sorry but a dog ceases to truly be a 'pet' when you breed it...doesn't mean you don't love it the same, care for it as much...but choosing to take that risk should be done w/ careful intent because you are changing that animal's life forever and also the lives of anyone that gets her puppies!
I'm the type of person I will tape all puppies ears and do everything I can to make them as sparkling of a representative of the breed as I can before they leave me...if someone is going to pay me for a chihuahua damn straight they will get one and people shouldn't have to ask what it is (lol except the LC thing, thats another thing entirely).

I totally agree... I think both of my pets are beautiful but I am happy having them as just pets. I don't see why other people can't do the same. I would like to show a chihuahua one day, and possibly breed. I am really more interested in the showing part. It will be a long time from now because I am still an undergrad and am going to vet school.. But that just gives me lots of time to do my research and learn to do it the RIGHT way! I could never just breed two dogs without being sure I was doing it properly. |

You know how you asked the questions about Lion, well the thing is, he does appear to be a well bred boy, despite not fitting the standard, per se...sad thing is there are few pets out there like Lion! In the US we get a huge variety of 'type' in our litters unless they are very, very linebred. I got 2 'pets' before I started to show, and neither is anywhere near perfect but its sad they are better than a lot of what these people are breeding. Learning as you go (rather than say, breeding Lion to Penny!) is the best way to do it...people are so stupid to think it should just be 'okay' to throw these animals together...

The whole thought of breeding is really daunting to me so far lol, I can't believe how carelessly some people go about it...I know not all 'pet' breeders are careless, I am not trying to say that, I mean more the people just letting their pets get knocked up...anyway...that's why I just keep buying more show dogs hahaha.

I just can't believe people still feel the need to post that we are rude I mean seriously I am so offended by those people. No one said a word to Robyn everyone has seen escudos and traceys posts saying Billy and tullulah have lp (plus bowed legs but hey). She didn't even deny what I said which just proved to me thT she has admitted what she is!!
That other woman doesn't see anything wrong with breeding her puppy I want to hit her!
