I used the hot oil treatment before going to my mom's for Christmas. We had 12 people there and 4 dogs. Brody was in his element being passed from lap to lap and playing with the big dogs. Everyone that held him commented on his coat and how he smelled nice!

My folks have two dogs, a big pointer mix and a papillon. They were both smells and shedding and overweight. I tried to GENTLY make a point about feeding them better food and less of it and they would have such improvement! My mom was all about "well its just a dog." Don't they see the difference a good diet, dental care, and coat care can make? I mean, it was pretty obvious between Brody and their dogs - the huge difference.

I think some people just don't want to take the trouble.

Tracy - they don't! That's the thing! They don't want to spend money on their dog or spend much time on them even if they do really love their pet; 'it's just a dog'.

I mean, I guess it is "just a dog." Sure. But take care of it! Honestly I couldn't handle a smelly dog all up in my face all the time with bad breath and excessive shedding.

I know! Kristi that's exactly how I felt! Finally I asked my dad if he had a scaler because I have seen him use one on his teeth and he pulled it out of a drawer and I went to work on the papillons teeth. I couldn't STAND the amount of tartar build up she had. She is 3, the same age as Brody. I pulled his lips back and showed my parents his teeth, then I had them look at Daisy's! I told her to get some petzlife at least. I was able to wrap Daisy in a towel and get off about 80% of the tartar. It was pretty thick so it just popped off in big chunks. YUCK. Maybe if they use the petzlife spray (no way they would brush) that will help with the teeth. She's not open to RMB, although she does feed rawhide strips. *sigh*

I was so grossed out by all the hair, that was the worst of it! Allllll over!!! The pointer mix was worse than the pap! Wish they'd listen to me.

I ordered some of this stuff yesterday. Had it in my Amazon cart from when I added it when this post first came about so figured I'd place the order when I ordered something else. Should be here in the next week...anxious to give it a try!

I love how much my dogs don't shed. I mean, most of the time some of my short coats shed a bit so there is a bit of hair. But like right now...it's cold & I went almost a week (I KNOW!) over Christmas because it was so crazy, w/o vaccuuming & on my stool I keep by the couch there was hardly any fur on it. Sometimes there is a bit on the bottom if I don't vaccuum for a couple days but it's like...I can't even IMAGINE how much fur we'd have if we fed Pedigree. Yikes! Zander shed soooo bad when we had him. Granted he was on Pedigree but geeesh we were pulling Zander fur out of the fridge a year after he left. LOL So bad!

Speaking of food changes/differences...I'm so proud my Papa is keeping Lacey on a frozen raw patty! He ended up getting another brand (in a white bag??) but so far she's still on a premade raw. Makes me sooo happy! Helps that she love love loves the patties. He had asked me when he came over last week how much he should feed her of the big patty & I told him to keep feeding what he was feeding. Well, apparently it was the amount Ivy had told him to feed the week before. LOL She's so smart for an 11yo. hehe
