Some of you may have read that I took Penny in for a possible UTI last Thursday. The vet took urine from her bladder and said he would call me with test results the next day. Friday passed, no call. I gave them until Monday afternoon, and still no call. I called today and asked about the test results... The receptionist (the one who is always very rude to me) said the vet had not been in Friday or Monday and would call me later today with the results.
He said he would call Friday with results. If he isn't even in the office on Fridays or Mondays, why would he say he would call?
It is 6:30 PM and they still haven't called, and the vets office is now closed. I don't care if they know she doesn't have a UTI, I would like to know! I paid $100 for testing so I think I deserve a phone call.
This one receptionist and a few of the vet techs are always very rude to me. Maybe it is because I am young, but I always feel like I am being talked down to when I take my dogs in there.
Sorry guys, just venting here. Has anyone else had a bad experience with their vets and had to switch?

I honestly am not one to do this but I would call and get my damn money back! That's ridiculous...I mean its practically malpractice if she DOES have a UTI because they can go to kidneys and rally cause some serious damage...

Thats what I was thinking! I mean, I understand if they need to run antibiotic sensitivity tests which may take a day but it has been 5 days now since I took her in. I would at least expect to find out if she had a UTI or not by now, and from what I hear it is strange they didn't treat her right away.

I wouldn't do it either but I would like to think someone could LOL just say you paid for the test on your animal, it's been 6 days and you've not had the results, your dog is suffering and they have a duty of care to her andshe should be treated Ndyou want your money back as the test hasn't been done!!!!
Do you hVe an ombudsman who you can complain to, that Is shocking.
My vet is so lovely

Usually they pull a sample, then start on a broad spectrum antibiotic in the meantime. If the culture comes back something that the antibiotic doesn't cover, they will switch you to something else. But while you are waiting, your dog is covered! Or if the culture was clean, they'd call you and tell you to DC the antibiotics as the culture didn't grow anything.
I think this vets behavior was shocking. I would definitely fire him and go somewhere else! Horrible! He works for YOU. You are paying his bills!
How is she doing??

She hasn't been licking herself... Still having accidents. I am guessing it is just a behavioral thing since she has not gotten any worse, but I want to rule out a UTI before I really crack down on potty training again.
Something else that bothered me about the vet is this: When I called to ask about bringing her in last Thursday, I asked if I could drop a sample by or if Penny needed to come in for a visit. I never once suggested that I couldn't afford to have her treated, but the receptionist seemed to take it that way and was very rude after. I did not appreciate being treated like I was not caring for my dog- I never once asked about the cost of treatment. The only reason I asked if I needed to bring her in was because I thought I could just drop off a sample, not because I wasn't willing to pay the $ for a office visit.
This experience with vet really did it for me. I am definitely switching vets.

Missy don't feel bad some people are just really rude. I still get patronised all the time, it really bugs me I just learnt to ignore it. I alway call up and ask the price because I want to make sure I'm not being robbed lol

I would be so upset. Call, get angry and demand her results and your money back, then switch! You paid for the test to get to the bottom of what's wrong, and here you are still wondering. If the front desk person is so unhelpful insist on speaking to someone else!
