I noticed pretty much right away when I saw her rear was a bit off and then saw her skipping quite a bit tonight, felt her knees and the left pops out extremely easily makes me sad. My thinking is in about a year she will need surgery...I dunno she is overweight so if I can convince everyone to stop feeding her and get her on a glucosamine and oil regime, maybe not...my mom was unable to get her insured because it was noted in her file at her 10 week puppy check up that knees were 'looser but NOT luxating'...poor Annabelle her dad is Bryco's granddad, and I can then narrow down again which side of that pedigree it came from,...still sad though.

Bummer. That makes me sad too. I would agree with getting her thinned down and on a good supplement regimen. That might help.

I figure she prob will need surgery, shes young to be skipping that much. Fortunately she doesn't seem too phased and is a happy little thing but...ouch! She is really quite small which I am sure plays a factor...I just hope they can take it seriously and stop overfeeding on the treats. My dad grew up feeding their dogs canned alpo and milk bones and 'they never had a problem' so he sort of thinks dogs don't need much and r olled his eyes when I said she needed glucosamine etc.

Oh that stinks Kristi--poor thing. Hopefully you can talk them into thinner her down a bit & adding in some supplements. Sounds like it could be hard with your dad though.

That's so sad. I'm really sorry to hear that. It's awful how plagued our breed is with this. If they can get her weight down hopefully it will help some. Keep us posted on how it goes for her.

Aww, that's awful. Hopefully your parents can get on board with the glucosamine. My dad is the same way about the "supplements... for a dog?"
