Just got back from work to find Jake licking at his back end obsessively, had a look and he had a huge cut. Hes currently in the vets under anesthetic having it all stitched up i'm waiting on phone call to say when i can get him

Thank you.No idea at all even the vet was confused, they couldn't get a proper look because he was being a brat so may know more once they've looked but its so weird. It looked really bad though. It's like hes sat on something sharp when hes gone for a poo, but we can't find anything in garden and i had him on lead last night
The only thing i can think of is that hes scooted his bum along the floor (he had an upset tummy the night before and got it stuck in fur) and ripped it maybe on something

Did he have an anal gland abscess??? That's what I would guess if it's right next to his bottom. Oh poor thing. I hope he's feeling better soon.

She doen't think its an abscess because its not in the right position to be and she said it probably would have looked a little messier but its still a possibility. They gave him the injection when i was there (i'm seriously shocked at how much of a brat he acted) that was over an hour ago surely i should have heard back by now?
