I totally agree Kristi!!!!! Even down to the fact that LC are way more chilled put than SC coz of the paps and Pom in them... But that was so long ago it's proper bred out hence why longs still look v typey (if bred properly) Missy that's interesting!! I read somewhere they should only be bred to a dark colour idk why I read the same thing(after I got her), I think it is because the merle markings are more likely to be hidden on a lighter dog so you have a better chance of getting a double merle? Maybe that was it, IDK.

yup thats what the link i posted said.. i find it fascinating... sad thing is people dont look into it... i found the percentages quite facinating in that you get x amont of single merles x about of double merles and then the white whichis blind and deaf... and i never knew that double merles are quite often born without eyes!!!!

Well I'll just throw this out there since we're talking crosses and genetics .... I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to hair a wire coated chi. I just think that coat type is cool and while it does require maintenance (hand stripping), it doesn't shed! Can you imagine a little wire coated chi with a teensy beard? OMG. I would be first in line. The first Chi I met after getting Lo was crossed with something, and he was wire haired!! He kinda looked like a little brussels griffon with his coat, but was totally Chi shaped. He was soooooo cute. I'll always remember little Benji!!
