As the title reads - I have a new dog!
I answered a gumtree 'free to a good home' ad last week for a small dog that was being given away as they had new kittens ()
Anyway - I figured that I would go see the dog, if she really was small and nice (as the ad said) I would being her home and be a stop gap while i rehomed her properly (as I have done loads of times before for different animals).
So I rang up, they said she cries if left alone, but i went to see her anyway and brought her home.
her name is Bella, she's 14 months, had a little of pups, had 5 homes and is a (I have since discovered) Patterdale terrier. She weighs 5.6kg and is actually a very sweet dog. I got her on a list for dogs trust to take her in, and started asking about for her. BUT my husband has decided he is desperate to keep her. He's walking her if I'm not out with the chi's anyway and he's training her too. She does indeed have pretty severe seperation anxiety so we are back to basics with that and going slowly to improve this as it's pretty important we get it sorted (anyone cured this in a dog before?)
they told me she hadn't been spayed - but not sure whether or not to believe them. They didn't tell me she had pups but when you look at her underneath its pretty obvious. When i took her to the vets he said she has had some kind of abdominal surgery as she has a big scar - maybe a c-section, or maybe they lied about her being spayed thinking she would hold more appeal if she was intact?
Does anyone know signs that will tell me she is / isn't spayed? I know I will know within 6 months anyway. She seems to scent mark when we are out for walks rather than do one or two wee's - she does about 10 tiny ones. That was making me think she was intact.
So that's my news - I'll add a photo as soon as I have put some into photobucket.
