I just cannot make my mind up about a collar for Lou
He's never worn one untill about 3 weeks ago I decidedd he should wear one. So I bought him a diamonte cat collar to get him used to wearing one while I found a rogz one to match his lead and harness.
It looks great on him and he got used to it real quick
BUT
His stupid fur ruffles over the top of the collar and sticks out over it and it bugs the crap out of me! I was forever jiggling it around to smooth the hair back down. my god it irritated me!
So tonight I took it off. Can't be doing with it.
So do your chis wear collars? Are they really necessary? Our garden is fully enclosed and he always wears his tag on his harness when we go out anywhere that isn't the garden
Just feel a bit bad as had several people comment on that now and drone on about how its a legal requirement blah blah blah etc

Mine do not wear collars. I always worry they will get caught on something and choke or get caught together when playing somehow when I'm not around. They squirm and play a lot more than bigger dogs so it worries me more. Mine only wear tags and collars when they leave the house. I also have tags on their harnesses. My door also leads out to a gated yard so no worries about them scampering out either.

No, so I guess that I can be in the "rebel" club with you.
My girls never go outside without us and without wearing their harnesses. I put their tags on their harnesses.
They will be microchipped at spay in a couple of weeks. I saw a tag that read "I am microchipped" (I have to remember where I found them) and I planned to order those to add to their tags.

Brody wears a collar 24/7. I guess I've been lucky but never have had a problem with it getting caught on anything, etc. I have a bunch of different ones, and each one has a matching ID tag. I just think they are cute and I like knowing that he has instant ID on him in case the unthinkable would happen and he'd get separated from us. He is also microchipped.

All mine wear a collar. I think theyre cute, and I like knowing that they always have a collar and tag on. Miley is a door dasher, she went zipping down our street once and I had to call "treats!!" to get her back lol. If shed been lost though I would want anyone that found her to instantly know who she was and where they belonged. I think they look naked without a collar!

My Pom got out once at my old house where the door didn't lead to the yard and I yelled out treats to get her back too. haha. I think collars are super cute too, I just wish I felt safer with them wearing them. I am such a worry wart type.

I would be nervous about leaving mine home alone together with their collars on, but Reese is the only one who gets run of the house so I dont worry about him. When theyre all reliable enough to be loose when we are gone I would probably remove their collars too. Although I dont know that Miley will ever be able to have run of the house when were out, she is always into something!
