Its a mystery! I did pick up an anti-fungal for athletes foot/ ringworm/ jock itch (lol Sarah) on the way home, Im just worried about her licking it off, not sure how toxic it is? Sarah I dont think its just a natural discoloration of her skin there b/c I cant find that color anywhere else on her. Could it be a sunburn just from having that skin exposed? I cant find what a sunburn would look like on a blue dog anywhere online, and shes had it so long that I cant remember if the skin was always a funny color there or not. Or maybe its just discolored from being more "exposed"?

Shes had the bald spot for maybe three weeks, but I dont think the discolored spot has been there the whole time. It looks like fur is coming in a bit, so I wondered when Paula mentioned how long it takes poor Roo to regrow her coat after getting shaved if Mileys just been taking a long time to come back in?

Did your SO have an evil moment and shave a patch off her and its razor burn? ha ha haaa jk. IDK what could cause it to get like that unless she maybe got rug burn from rolling around on a carpet or something?

Like Sarah suggested I may just try treating it like ringworm and then we can either rule that out or fix it. If there isnt some improvement next week Ill take her in to the vets, I just hate making that brutal hour long drive sitting in traffic to find out shes just balding. Will it hurt her if she licks some of the cream? Kristi how long before Taylors spot looked better?

It could be taking a long time to come back. It's 3 weeks since Roo's surgery tomorrow and she isn't anywhere near having her coat back. It's coming in, but I'm guessing 2 more months + and even then I wonder if it'll be fully in. I think what Kristi said is possible about the carpet burn. Once they have bald spots like that, their skin is much more fragile to getting hurt. It does look like a bruise/ blood under the skin to me so it's hard to say. If you're taking her in for anything, like heartworm test/meds, maybe your vet could sort it. My pom had a very small spot, about the size of a thumb that I noticed one day was completely bare. I asked my then vet about it and her said sometimes pets injure themselves and the hair just never grows back in the area. He made nothing of it. His reason seemed a bit weird, but who knows. Her spot was natural skin color though, not discolored or anything.

Te cream should absorb as long as it's fully rubbed in and she doesn't touch it for a while then I think it would be fine. This is so bizarre could she have bumped into something or has something dropped on her or anything?
