This is extremely disturbing, its so endemic in the cav breed because of ignorance and denial. Thankfully the new kc fit for function rules shouldn't allow a dog with a disease like this to win anything. Even if the dog in question shows no symptoms it should be removed from the gene pool. As for showing no symptoms- a dog can not tell you that it has had a consistant nagging headache for a few weeks- I'm not sure I buy that. If ignored it could have massive implications for the health of the breed, the problem may be that by the time a dog has symptopms serious enough to be recognised and diagnosed it has already been bred. I hope breeders do not cover it up or ignore it to save face and reputation.

I don't even think some breeders would be bothered about saving face and reputation lol, I think it would be missing out on using a dog who's doing well!
As for the KC, I know some people will probably hate me for saying this but I don't put much faith in their enforcing of rules.
