LP is such a problem in our breed b'c some of the nicest dogs used for top studs had LP and people just turned a blind eye. I've seen dogs skipping in the ring that I know are used for breeding...I don't understand why people use dogs like that, or show them, but they do

I think Louise showed me a video of a dog skipping in the ring. Why do judges allow them? Surely the entire purpose of showing a dog is showing that it is the best example of the breed and will be bred from to better the lines etc. You can't breed from a dog with LP but judges turn a blind eye Its sad when it comes to dogs with these problems being bred from just so that they can pass on their good mouth/head etc

I would wonder if a dog thay had done well was diagnosed with syringomaelia at say 7 or 8, by which time it had beem bred many many times and its offspring bred from. It would be difficult for a breeder to have to contact all the people that have bred with their dog and also to say these dogs should be pulled out of breeding and showing, people might want to stay away from that breeder in futuee if it has wasted their time and money and it would be embarassing for the breeder of the dog with syringomaelia that has passed it on to so many others. I would be surprised if people didn't deny or ignore it.
