K, I will have to go buy all of that, but that's fine, I can definitely do that. I know, I was almost in tears at the vet thinking it might be parvo. We have a Petco, but is that anti- diarrhea aid at Petsmart at all? We have a gift card there, so that'd be nice.
What kind of yogurt do I get? And does it matter the flavor of pedialyte?

plain unflavored pedialyte and plain unflavored yogurt, or vanilla if there is no plain (sometimes our store is out). I don't know if Petsmart has the anti-diarrhea stuff or not, ... they may? I know there are others out there you can buy but I have had great success with that one and am wary of many others which didn't work when B was sick as a baby.

So they wanted to hospitalize her based on her blood results. She has a really low white blood cell count. I didn't want to hospitalize her, so she recommended the lowest possible things. She got fluids under the skin for her dehydration, an anti nausea injection, and antibiotics. The vet said it's pretty serious, especially since she is so small. She also said that based on her white blood cell count, she is not out of the woods for Parvo because it could explain the white blood cells if she was just starting to fight it but it wasn't far enough to show on the parvo test. It could also just be some type of infection. When I told her about the raw diet, she said she recommends cooking chicken and that she could be fighting Salmonella. I just really really hope it's not Parvo. If it's Parvo they said we will have to hospitalize her and just do what we are doing now, but much more aggressively. I would pay anything to save her, if it came to that. But we are so broke right now, I tapped into all I could to pay the $350 today cost me. If it's Parvo, we do not have the extra $500+ to pay for the treatment... nor have any more resources to get any more money

I'm really sorry you're dealing with an ill Izzy. I really hope she pulls through & gets feeling better ASAP! I'll be thinking about her & about you & keeping positive thoughts going your way....

I just can't help but think she isn't going to make it. I dread putting her in her crate tonight because I am afraid when I get her out in the morning she'll be gone.. Why is this happening to her? I was so careful. I got all 3 booster shots. I made sure they didn't go outside til at least a couple weeks after their last booster. I have done everything I could.. and my baby is still sooo sick.

Did they want you to hydrated her through out the night? I really hope it's just some odd virus that she just needs some time to recover from. I definitely agree with Kristi in making the paste so it keeps some type of nutrients going through her body. I know you said you used your step-moms care credit account--have you tried calling & applying for one as well? They're really handy to have. I've never had to use ours but it's great for peace of mind.... It's hard to not think of the worst in these situations. Just try to remain positive & keep doing what you're doing....

Keep a positive attitude! She is not out of the woods yet, but there's a very good chance you can get her through this. Keep up the fluids. Set the alarm and get up every 2 hours through the night and get fluids into her, maybe alternate using the pedialyte/chicken baby food along with water. If she's not having diarrhea or vomiting, you are ahead of the game.
Don't blame yourself, you did everything right with her puppy shots and diet. Don't second guess yourself. Sometimes puppies get sick and there's nowhere to point the finger. Just like sometimes human babies get ill. It's just one of those things. Don't worry about where it came from, just concentrate on keeping her hydrated and getting her well.
If she picked up something at the park, giardia or whatever, there are no shots to protect against that.
Did they want her on a prescription food? I would agree that with a low white count, she is immunosuppressed, so give her canned or anything she will eat, but I wouldn't do raw right now. The baby food chicken should be giving her some protein and meeting some of her needs. But like I said, keeping fluids in her is the most important thing right now.

*sending good thoughts*
Little Izzie get better! You're so lucky to have such a caring momma.
Hun, do NOT second guess yourself. You are one of the most caring, loving doggymommas out there. You've done everything right by here, and will continue to do so.
We're thinking of you!
