She wasn't going to be spayed for another 2 weeks but im scared enough about her going under anesthetic so vet said if i get her spayed now at least she will only have to go under once, and she will have the pre op blood test to check things are ok too. I think i need to become a vet though £32 for 60 seconds of his time! Said her heart sounds fine and nothing is blocked so it could just be a tiny bit of grass irritating her throat but it is bugging her big time bless her she hasn't even been able to get excited about the delivery of stuff thats just arrived for them

My vet is very expensive too, I hate it. When I went to Sarah's vet for Chaos' hernia he didn't charge me and just put it down as the pre op check. My vet did that once I think when Kiki was spayed but after that he's always charged me when I thought it was unnecessary (like when we had to return after Chaos' op). Is your vet part of a vet group? Hope it all goes smoothly tomorrow, although I'm sure Heidi will be fine

Its going to cost £140 for her to be spayed tommorow, dread to think how much it is for a bitch over 15kg. Last time i went in when i was concerned about Heidi not being able to lose weight we were only there for about 5 mins so the vet only charged £12 but this one obviously didn't like me and charged the full consultation price even though we were out in 1 minute. Yeh i think they have 4 practices around the area, there is another vets here thats a lot cheaper but they are a bit further away and their out of hours place is half an hour away whereas our vets out of hours is just up the road. Heidis really struggling at the moment she needs to just lie down and sleep otherwise it starts off again. I tried to give her some warm water with honey in to see if it helped with her throat but shes not interested

Could you give her some piraton?? Just wonder if it's an allergy to whatever is in there?
My vet is great and quite cheap he's independent and really does care about the animals! His consultations are £22 tho pees me off if I know what's up and want antibiotics lol

Good job Daisy is at her other brothers house for the week or she would more than likely caught the eye infection too. Our vets are good just way too expensive lol

My vet charges about £33 for a consultation, no matter how long you're in there for and he does like to to rush you. I hate being rushed.
Maybe its just me but I find that the practices that are part of a franchise seem to be more expensive, like they have monthly targets to hit!

Its £32.95 for a consultation at ours. Out of hours is £100 just to get them out, then consultation fee then whatever they need on top of that! I payed £14 for Jakes to have his nails done once and they did a crap job and did it in 2 mins. Its rare that they tell me something i didnt already know when i do take them in too so i get annoyed paying to be told what i knew lol. Yeh i think they must do, the smaller practices always seem to care more about the pets than the money
