I just find it very confusing that people can sell puppies who are KC registered but the breeder might not be a KC accredited breeder. That makes it very difficult to spot a good breeder. We live in West London and would preferably like to have a shortcoat boy. We are not sure when we are ready to have another Chi yet, just wanted to see what the options are. I also want to be careful as I see so many KC registered puppies being sold, while the people who sell them dont really seem to be professional in what they doing. So dont want to encourage those people to keep breeding because ppl buy their dogs.

KC registered means nothing but the puppies are pure chihuahua and tlhave papers doesn't mean that their parents are good examples of chihuahuas. There are so many appallingly bred chis out there it's ridiculous! Unless their papers are endorsed the KC will register their pups!
Being an accredited breeder doesn't mean much either tbh whilst you'll have good breeders on there you'll also have crap ones and again it doesn't mean you will get a good quality chihuahua! Personally I would go to someone who shows their dogs at champ level, knows the standard and only breeds to keep something they always have dogs that won't be what they want so sell them to pet homes and you will know they're of good stock!
I know of someone who has smooths now but they're a while out of London

Or might would even be interested in starting to show. I went to a Chihuahua show in Slough quite some time ago and there were so many lovely Chis. For a good pup we wouldnt even mind to drive quite a while.

If you want to show that's the best place to start go to a show watch the dogs choose a type you like and speak to the breeders

I spoke to a woman there. And she had lovely dogs, but unfortunately she rarely breeds and if than mostly her puppies go to other breeders who show But I think I really should go to another show. And it was exciting too
