should I worm her?

...we were all out in the yard hanging out today and I notice Ivy is trotting around the envy of all the other dogs with something blackish and quite fuzzy in her mouth. I finally caught up to her and got her to drop it and it was a dead bird's head (yes, just the head). No clue where the rest of the bird was, but I think she'd been chewing on it a bit b'c she was off on her own in the fenced yard for maybe 5 minutes. It was SO DISGUSTING. It didn't look like a healthy bird head either but maybe it was decomposing...idk. Anyway, I am unsure as to if I should worm her or not? She's scheduled to get her heartworm meds in 15 days and that has a basic wormer in it. Ughhhh so gross.

I dunno, you're not able to tell how it died.. so it may be a good idea to err on the side of caution. You can always get some DE (food grade) and give it to everyone once a week or so in some yogurt/milk?

What is DE?

Oh they find the foulest stuff out there...dead worms, bugs, and god knows what other dead things. I have also noticed some scooty booty which we never had living in condos. I wormed everyone 2 weeks ago but I'm all eeked out now.

DE is diatomaceous earth, Kristi. (I believe that is what Kelly is referring to at least) I'm not sure if you need to worm her really so I'm no help. I'd probably call my vet and ask advice. I'm sure she will be fine, but urgh, very gross.
