hi im looking at the royal canin chihuaha food anyone else use it opinions please I think its really kind of over-priced for what it is -- they spend soooo much money on slick fancy marketing and not enough on the quality of the food! A LOT of us here do feed prey model raw diet but there are loads of options out there that are pre-made including kibbles that are good. The only kibbles I would feed if forced are either Acana, Orijen or Fromm Family Four Star Nutritionals. dogfoodanalysis.com lists almost all dry foods and rates them between 1 star and 6 stars based off of the quality of ingredients and reputation of the company--most royal canin foods are only 2* so you can definitely do better! You are feeding a lot of dogs and big dogs so I can understand needing convenience of pre-mades tho lol plus from your video I can tell you are young like me so you probably aren't loaded :-p ha ha. Anyway, you've asked a bunch of canine nutrition nuts so lots of us will have helpful opinions I think!

Since your already feeding 3 raw (barf) than why not feed the chi raw? Chihuahuas love raw! Btw your dogs are gorgeous!

I agree with everyone else I hate royal canin for personalreasons I'm also a raw feeder! I don't do barf though dogs do not need veges theyre just a filler an unless they are a slurry they cannot get any nutrients out of them! I'd just put your chi on raw I'd your others are it'd be better for his agility get rid of that kibble podge and get some muscle on him!

I feed Royal Canin. My dogs are healthy and have gorgeous coats There are varying formulas; I prefer the one without corn as an ingredient. It's called Mini Indoor Adult 21.

I don't think its a BAD food and certainly dogs do well on it (e.g. beautiful Tabi and Jerry! and Louise's Perry!) I just don't see why its so expensive and I feel like you pay a lot for the marketing as the food ingredients are highly available and not expensive themselves. Raw does NOT work for everyone and I know TONS of toy breed owners use RC. I'd rather see someone feed RC over Hills Science Diet or Grocery store brands any day and both my girls did well on it when they came to me just do your research and def do like Therese does if you try it and get a corn free version.
