I hear you on the picky bit! Maybe PM Heather -- I know she might've had more info on feeding EVO to puppies -- I think its a good food but personally wouldn't feed it to pups is all. Its nice tho that they have the formulas with such tiny bites. I wouldn't say it "wont be good for her" just that it might be "a bit much". Toy breeds already grow so fast you don't want to fast forward that process any more than necessary so their bones and muscles have time to all grow "together".

Leah was a bit smaller than her at that age and she was naughty with eating too, skipping meals often,...and of course I was worried she might get hypoglycemic from being so small...finally we stopped catering to her "finicky" side and let her skip a meal or two and she's gobbled her food ever since.

What about ZiwiPeak? I know that Karen is using that for her two and they are growing beautifully and doing really well.
I feel your annoyance Therese. I got in that cycle with Brody when he was a puppy and just about could have opened another pet store with all the foods I bought. It made him a really picky eater and even now, he's a reluctant eater. He's not an easy keeper at all and with all the extra exercise he's getting now, he is getting hard to keep weight on.
I would say to pick a food you feel comfortable with and stick with it.

I liked the EVO because it is made here in Nebraska. Easier to get And, Evie loved the taste. I guess we can get through the puppy stages on something else and switch later... If she just eats, I don't care that it's Royal Canin... I think I will not cater to her as you both have mentioned and allow her to miss a meal or two here or there. As long as I don't see signs of hypoglycemia (lethargic, etc.) or weight loss, I'll just be happy

I know some people think that mixing foods 'unbalances' them but I always mixed foods for our old dogs and they lived long and healthy lives. That helps in this day and age when companies are being bought and sold and formulas changed (Proctor and Gamble buyout for example). Then they aren't fixated on one specific type of food. Some people just 'rotate' through different bags/brands of food and that's OK if their digestive system can handle it.
