Even rawfed dogs need their teeth brushed! I was too lazy. Now both pups need dentals. I could throw myself off a bridge. Now we're doing PetzLife gel 2-3x a week and wasn't someone in love with a water additive too? They're going back to my friends house in the states for their dentals.. here it's $480+ for EACH DOG. I about slapped my vet.. I love them, but one 80lb+ dog is the SAME PRICE. I figured I should get two for one.

Wow thats shocking. I thought the bones did all that work for you!
And $480 for each dog and its the same price as a big dog, thats disgusting. Some vets are shameless!

My vet charges £130 each dog plus £15 for each extraction. Which I didn't think was to bad. Paige will be getting hers done sometime this year, her teeth are minging and I can't get near her mouth to clean them. She was fed bakers before I got her.......enough said......

I can't remember how much I was charged for Gambit's baby teeth when he had a neuter. Don't think it was £15 per tooth though!

Yeah, the pricing was rediculous. I love my vet though.. he is wonderful and has given me so many price breaks. I just couldn't fathom paying the same for one 3lb chi, that a 80+ lb dog owner does. Seems a rip off.
Sarah, you said those Ostrich tendons really clean their teeth, right? We don't have those here. Maybe that's the difference?
Also, because of their smaller meals, we have started everyone (dog) on ONE MEAL a day. No more breakfast. This way, the meals are bigger, and they have to chew more. Also.. Goo likes to choke on his food when it's small (he literally almost died one day - stupid ass tried to swallow something WAY too big and I had to doggy-heimlich him--- the best part? after I got it out - it was still SORT of in his mouth as I went to pull it AND THE IDIOT TRIED TO EAT IT AGAIN *flail*).
I would def check around for better pricing. I know here in Canada they charge us WAY too much, in the states you can get dentals for WAY cheaper.
