Thanks so much, Lucy. Well, whatever is is, it's bothering her again this morning. Do you all think it could still be a pinched nerve? I'm so baffled by it. Her appetite is fine, as are her bowel movements, nothing else is amiss. But this morning I could tell she seemed off again, not acting like her usual happy joyful self. She is walking fine, just a bit slower and is more subdued. She was afraid to stretch again too. Then when I went to pick her up she yelped again. I gave her a dose of metacam. My vet told me to bring her in for a free recheck if it's still bothering her. Would you take her in again today? Or should I see if the metacam helps and let her rest?

Urgh I hate this, I wish I wasn't such a worry wart. I called the vet again and the vet that saw her yesterday isn't in. They told me I could bring her in for a recheck, but that I might want to give the metacam a bit and call back tomorrow morning when the vet that checked her is in and see what she says. Her feeling was that if the vet had thought it was something really serious she would have done something else yesterday. She was acting fin yesterday when she was there though. The two main vets that are very familiar with Roo aren't in today. I'm wondering if maybe she needs an xray. I'm starting to worry that it could be a disc problem. I guess I will just call tomorrow morning and talk to the vet that examined her. I'm worried though.

If she's hurting, even after the metacam, I'd take her in today Paula. You will be worried sick all night if you don't. If she's resting easily and no more yelping, then take her in tomorrow.

Paula I'm only just seeing this.
Hope you get it sorted. If she's comfortable after her meds I'd try and wait to see the vet you already seen, at least you wouldn't be back to square one explaining it all again. Unless she's really really in pain then don't wait, just get her seen.
Poor Roo, hope she's feeling better soon xx

Thanks so much for your replies, Tracy and Rachel. Well, my vet called me today to check on Roo to see how she was doing. Her feeling is that if she's acting ok after the metacam to give it a few days and see. She said it's not a disc problem because she checked her back and spine thoroughly and pressing on it like that would cause her pain. She also said disc problems are extremely painful, so she'd know. Plus they usually show neurological signs as well. She feels it's either a pinched nerve or the pins in her legs might be bothering her. She mentioned again how easy it was for her to feel them and said they could easily be pinching her. I have already called the ortho to set up an appointment but he's not in until Tuesday. I gave her the metacam this morning and by this afternoon she was feeling better, she even did sprints around the yard. So she is feeling better, but she still doesn't seem 100%, but that might be because the metacam makes her sleepy. She told me to give her a half dose. So I'm going to give her a dose of metacam on Saturday and Sunday too and I'll see what Monday brings. I also have my vet's cell phone number and she told me to call her should something arise over the weekend. I'm still sorta baffled by it, but at least I know she's out of pain now. Thanks again for the replies. I really appreciate it. I'll keep everyone posted, of course.
