Just gotta say thanks for this thread Kristi! I've heard of all these products here & there. We had tried a water addative (can't remember what brand we used) way back when we fed kibble & it didn't seem to work. Actually, brushing daily (we used CET vanilla mint toothpaste)& water addative didn't work & Matilda ended up with mega tartar build up by the time she was 15 months! Scaling her teeth myself & switching to raw made a HUGE difference w/o brushing but once we started adding in occasional ZP, HK & S&C's along with our supplements (Nupro & Earth Animal) my pups breath has been horrid and getting a bit of (easy to scrape) build up. I'd just scrape off now & again with my fingernail or my scaler and their teeth remain in decent shape w/o much effort but their breath with the supplements totally left something to be desired. Anyway, after reading this thread with all the goodie info in one place I knew their dental hygeine, while not bad, could be better so I stocked up on a few things. Found the Tropiclean water addative as well as a tropiclean fresh breath foam in my fav natual pet store. (wasn't sure about the foam at first but it works great using after bfast) Then ordered some CET HEXtra chews & petzlife spray. Been using the Tropiclean products for 2 weeks & the petzlife & chews for a week (along with regular boney items & bully's like usual). I've also been brushing every third day of petzlife and I've got to say the difference in ALL of my pups teeth is really amazing already! I mean, they had decent teeth to begin with but now they pretty much sparkle & their breath is worlds better which is what I wanted. LOL So I just had to say "thanks" for sharing your info!

Has anyone tried the Dorwest Homoepathetic remedies for teeth? There is 1 that is supposed to 'soften and aid the removal of tartar on encrusted teeth and to slow down and prevent the formation of new plaque deposits' I might give it a go as Jake & Heidi have got quite bad tartar build up and its not coming off very easy. They do a toothpaste too so i may try that, and i was told CSJ do something that you add to the food

I have just run out of the petzlife gel, i have been using the minty one on my 3, i have to say though on Daisy it isnt helping the tartar build up much at all. It does keep their breath nicer. lol Daisy's teeth have always been a wee bit dirtier cause she was older when she came here and the tartar was already there. Havent found anything that really gets them gleaming. Darla and Dillons teeth are nice, but at the very back i noticed a teeny bit of build up of plaque there and want to nip that in the bud before it gets worse. I do try to brush daily, but only Daisy really allows me to do it properly. They get their bully sticks everyday. Am on the lookout for something else now.

Never tried the dorwest stuff! Plaque off do Something too
Terri I know you're not adverse to a bit of raw that would proba ly get the remainder off dillydog and darla if they have a couple of wings a week?? Same for daisy it should help loosen hers up enough to pop it off!!
So glad I don't have this problem, really should Brush their teeth though
