I have noticed recently that Leah's appetite hasn't been very good. She will eat, but she eats soooooo slowly, like she HATES it. If I offer her something she doesn't particularly love, like Ziwipeak, she will flat out just not eat. She will guard her bowl from the other but this morning she didn't even take a bite. So I just picked her bowl up and she can be offered food again at dinner time. I know some dogs do sometimes skip a meal.
But she really doesn't seem to 'want' her food. She did this as a puppy too and we let her skip a few meals and it seemed to cure her of putzing around a meal time for awhile.
She also can't wait to get outside in the morning and eat grass. This of course makes her throw up from time to time.
Overall she seems to be playing normally, sleeping normally, and otherwise seems healthy...
Any thoughts? She LOVES her bone-in meals. She never turns those down...is she just being picky or is she not feeling well?

It sounds like she isn't feeling well since she's eating grass and throwing it up. If you feed her meals she enjoys does she eat fine every time then? If she does, I'd say she'd just being picky, but her anxiousness to get outside and eat grass seems odd, like her stomach is upset. Maybe the ziwipeak just doesn't agree with her stomach?
Roo is being picky lately too. I think in her case it's the add-ons, she hates when I add the powdered glucosamine and the ester C to her food. If I give her a meal without the add-ons she always eats better. She especially hates the glucosamine even though I mix and hide it she must easily smell it. Are you adding things to Leah's food at the times she doesn't want to eat? I was even considering putting Roo on a wet food.

Leah is like Roo - she doesn't want anything added to her food. And yep, she eats fine every time when its meals she likes, so I do feel like she is just being picky. She isn't losing weight, but she also isn't gaining. If she was losing weight we'd have already been to the vet's.
I do wonder if the glucosamine or some of the other add-ons affect her tummy. I have been trying to cut back on some of them.
Her stools are perfect, so...it seems like everything is working right 'inside'?

This must be going around because Brody is being even more picky than usual as well! I wonder if its a change in the weather or something? He has also been having bile vomits in the morning which he has NEVER had before. I have been giving him a snack before bed but this morning he went to eat breakfast and the smell of it must have nauseated him as he started heaving. UGH. Once he got over it, I gave him a couple pieces of ziwipeak and he kept it down. I really think he would prefer to go to one larger meal a day in the evening, but then he bile vomits in the morning! I have no doubt he'd be out eating grass if he wasn't only out on lead. Its frustrating.

It is SO frustrating! Drives me nuts! The rest of mine are eating well and everyone is healthy and lively lol. I'm keeping a close eye on Leah b'c I don't want her losing any weight, and she also has had two small (one the size of a dime, one the size of a quarter) patches of fur fall out - tested negative for ringworm and everything else, so I hope she isn't having thyroid issues. I actually think she might be allergic to the shampoo and all the baths she was getting, compounded w/ blow drying as the cause, so I am glad she has a break, cuz the vet doesn't think anything is wrong w/ her. Thankfully she has such a full coat you'd never know any fur was missing unless you were blow drying her against the hair growth direction. But obviously now with her being picky, I am worried what if something more is going on? But like I said, we've been to the vet and back a few times and we will do bloodwork if skipping baths for a bit doesn't help the two tiny patches of fur regrow. Its hard because of course the vet thinks its her diet that might be causing problems.

Gotta get some all natural shampoo and conditioner, bathe her and leave her be for a few months I guess.
Oddly enough, the fur issue seems to have sprouted up when I took her off of The Missing Link...I wonder if thats just coincidence or not?

OMG so odd...last night & this morning Marley ate his food (they've been on mainly ZP for a month now) SOOOO slow which he usually woofs it down. So this thread I had to read. Weird how a few have been having similar issue. I'm hoping maybe it was because I was feeding him a bit more than usual trying to get a little padding on him as he had gotten a tad on the thin side & maybe he was just getting FULL (he ends up with a full scoop of ZP a day) but I dunno.
Mari also did this a while back come to think about it but with S&C's. I dunno...maybe they just feel under the weather & don't have an appetite for a few days? Hopefully that is the case.
