Wow that is a HUGE price jump!
I'm so glad we have the ground mixes here! I couldn't afford raw without it. Meat has jumped up massively in price these past few months. Even chicken, the cheap meat, has got so expensive. I need to marry a farmer hahaha

I dunno if I trust the Real Meat brand...but it was more expensive than ZP to begin with so I'm guessing they're similar price now all said & done? I dunno... Still not sure what I'm going to do. I have some time because of the Venison I just ordered, the lamb still being an ok price & the coupon(s) I'm going to get.
She said the company has set a minimum price that ALL retailers have to abide by. Not sure what that price is as I know they have to make their money too. I'll bookmark the Golf Coast link though. That I could handle every now & again & just get the lamb through our local store. That's the thing...I love supporting our local family business & it sucks when this happens. Makes it hard to stay 100% loyal!! They do have very competitive pricing though so it'll be interesting to see if the prices at other places go up any more. Petflow was close...but in the end I was only paying a few more $ to buy local so I stuck with them. (was $116 with tax & all for an 11lb bag) But $25 every few weeks is a LOT...too much really for our budget to just pay to stay loyal...as much as it sucks.
Sarah, in my conversion that's not that bad at all! If I did it right. LOL

Big time bummer. :-(
Are any of you planning to make a quick order today or tomorrow? I have a coupon for PetFoodDirect.com, but it has to be used before the end of the year. I'm not going to use it, so the first person to ask for it will get the code.
The coupon is for $20 OFF orders $99+... (It doesn't look like they offer free shipping though, so that might kill the deal).

I'm in the same boat as Karen. I'll stick with Ziwi despite the price mainly because there just aren't that many grain free products out there that I'm comfortable feeding and I don't want to do raw. Mine are sooo sensitive to grains. Even one tiny little treat can make them itch and lick their paws like mad. And Roo's anal glands act up very quickly too. Ziwipeak and The Honest Kitchen solved all of their problems. I'm not comfortable just feeding THK though as it seems lacking, so I now only use a small amount of it as a base for the ziwi. Okay, Paula. Of course you already have the babies in a sweet Valentine's day siggy!! Hee hee. I actually didn't even think of it being Valentine themed, looks like I'm ahead of the curve then. ;D

I did think of mixing it 1/2 & 1/2 with one of the lesser expensive THK's Paula & that would definitely help offset the price even with the increase. Fortunately I don't think we're dealing with any grain allergies (except Maxie--he tends to get gassy on certain grains--hasn't had an issue since switching to grain free though so I'm unsure on what was causing that!). I just hate what it does to teeth is all...and I despise the poop! I will NOT be doing GL--I'm STILL finding smudges of veggies & chicpeas in the potty area (because of the snow & leaves & such)--GAG!! I can not believe how much POOP there was from those few days of that food--unbelievable!! At least THK seems to digest mostly & they don't seem to poop as much. LOL I may pick up a box of Force this next week. I don't mind THK at all...like I said...just hate what it does to teeth & poop. hehe But I can obviously help the teeth & deal with the poop so... Maybe the way to go for now.

[/quote] I think that's a great idea. THK is so much cheaper than Ziwi. Since I don't feed raw or use RMB's, I pretty much have to brush Pip and Roo's teeth every night so I'm used to that aspect. I also use a gel otherwise they would be nasty. I don't know if it's the breed/smaller mouths or if it's genetics, but I find that out of all the dogs I have ever had their teeth have the propensity to get bad fairly quickly so I have to really keep on top of it. :\

The mark up price on ziwi is pretty high, I got lamb 5kg bag at wholesale price which was £55, and I think its sold for £70?
