Just got an email from the owner of the store I buy from telling me ZP has mandated a "minimum charge" for venison ZP--$134.99 (was $110.99). I checked petflow & it's $135.99 now. Luckily the lamb is a bit cheaper on petflow (not sure what our store is charging--haven't heard back from her yet) but that's a $25 price hike for the venison. WTF?! So irritated as it's expensive as it is. I will not pay that much more for an 11lb bag I'm sorry... I'm running out of options on what to feed w/o breaking the bank. ZP is one of the few foods that my whole lot can eat w/o having wonky effects on one or more of my dogs. Only disadvantage it has on my lot is Marley tears a bit more but I can live with that as he tears ANYWAY. I'm glad I ordered an 11lb bag of venison last night & got the "old price". Gives me a few weeks to figure something out. Hopefully the lamb isn't bad ordering from them--I'd even shop petflow at the price it is now. I can handle a few extra dollars but not $25! Everyone is jacking the prices on decent dog food. Hare-today prices got jacked up a while back & now this. F*#@! Getting irritated!!

OH NO!! I just started ordering the 11lb bags as well, because it is the only way I can afford to feed ZiwiPeak. $130 seems like wayy too much... Did they increase the price of the 2.2lb bags as well?
Maybe Stella & Chewys will work out to be cheaper since the price increase...

Yep, looks like they increased the price of the smaller bags as well. So frustrating.

Yeah, I assumed they'd raise the price of the smaller bags by a few dollars as well. Boooo!! It's going to figure out to be the same as S&C's frozen patties for pete sakes. Booo...I'm so so upset about this.

What about buying a grinder Heather? Investing in a good one from Northern Tools or One Stop Jerky Shop. I think the Tasin is a good one that will grind bones. Then just once a month or so you could make a big old batch of meat/bones/organs and you would have your own grind. The only thing you'd have to do is thaw and serve. If I was pushed, that's what I would try and do.

I'm sure they'll change too Tracy--from what I gather it went into effect today since I just placed an order last night & today the email. ACK. I do think the lamb is still reasonable enough but I'd like to have more variety than just lamb.
Thing is meat here is so expensive! That's why I stopped bothering with prey model. It was a lot of work yes, but price wise it's not cheaper. $3 a pound for chicken wings...sure I could get beef (but beef doesn't work for Mari), pork I used to be able to find stewed pork for under $1 per pound & now THAT is over $3 a pound!
I was trying to go through hare today & adding some stuff to my cart (cheaper stuff--pork hearts, turkey necks and a chicken grind--maybe some kidney of some sort since I just got some pork liver from a friend who just had her pig slaughtered) I got about 65lbs of stuff for $130 which is great! But shipping was $50. *sigh* Before I was ordering from there & spending about $130 & it was lasting me a month+ for 6 dogs. Not so bad. But their prices have gone up quite a bit...plus the shipping is more than $25 like it used to be. Sucks how everything is just creeping up in price...except for our paychecks. LOL
The Animal House is offering "10% off in Jan" coupons every time you shop there before the end of the year--I'll have to swing in & pick up a few odd ball cheapy stuff a couple times before Sun. LOL

Oh no, that stinks. I wish I had locked in the price on Petflow now. I believe they had an offer where if you told them to deliver it on a schedule to you that you could lock in a set price. I was paying 30.00 for a 2.2 lb bag for a long time until I heard about Pet Flow, so I guess it's back to that now.
