Apparently it'd quite easy and pretty painless when they are younger (I don't know how true this is) but it just looks barbaric clamp and yank ouch

Um i have an issue with ear cropping and tail docking I always worry they're gonna poke their eyes out when they scratch lol Yes I know you do. LOL I can't say I don't have a problem with it I guess...wrong wording. But I do respect why it's done with certain breeds. Just glad ours isn't one of them that calls for it!

I think there's a legislation here for it now!!

Sarah I believe that you aren't allowed to do it at all now? I've recently started seeing quite a few Rottie's with long tails. I can't lie, it just looks wrong lol but I'm glad that they aren't doing it any more. Of course there are certain people who will continue to do it regardless! Chaos ripped out a normal nail, it was horrible

I have helped a breeder take them out, its really pretty simple, done before 5 days old and tbh the pups hardly noticed. Trigger had 1 grow back and it had to be removed when he was neutered, it was a bit more of a procedure then obviously. It was all mangled and odd looking! It hurt him too I guess I just assume its whats done, they annoy the shit out of me, Bryco still has back ones (which are not a sign of inbreeding, simply a trait of some of the oldest lines in chihuahuas that pops up every so often). I don't have a problem if people don't remove them but I will when I breed. Just a personal thing LOL on tail docking and ear croping...well, tail docking I do agree with for working dogs -- reason being that if they are herding etc. that tail can end up being their demise if a cow or horse steps on it. The functional docking of tails does not bother me. Ears...meh meh. I think its a little cruel but I want a dane some day and I have to say I don't like natural eared danes
