Ditto - had my lot mated 10 times over this morning but my breeding is quite high so had better reduce the percentages for the next few litters.

Yeah my guys are all line breed too so will need to do a bit of out cross first with pandy. I don't see why the kc are so against line breeding I know it can cause problems if you don't know what your doing but if you know your lines then it works out well.

It's because there is too much going On and with the whole health pribs and pedigree dogs exposed they are being watched! I actually agree to a certain amount yes line breed for type BUT not too closely you have to be careful because whilst it helps correct faults it chucks them all up too you can end up with Say 50% full of faults drpending how close it is which is quite a high percentage I was looking into linebreeding, inbreeding and outcrossing
This mate select tool isn't full proof though the percentages are a bit stupid considering I put father daughter in for the percentage and it was 26.6 and a big warning came up about not being reg etc etc but then you put uncle and niece and the percentage isn't that bad but yet he has the exact same relationship as a dam so that's just BS!!!

Been chatting with a few breeders and some long standing ones swear by close line breeding whereas others tend to be more cautious - and some even say it is more luck (and that is someone who has been breeding for over 40 years!!). She said just to use a local stud dog as more convenient etc LOL...........my personal feeling is that I have to love the look of the stud dog x
