I do think muzzle size plays a significant part, from what I understand those with longer noses (like Alfie) tend to have better teeth than the ones with the much shorter, snub noses. Alfie's teeth are great so far, very white and clean, but I guess even he might have issues as he gets older? Badger's teeth (what's left of them) are awful. Agree,Rosie has TINY teeth, some have fallen out by themselves and her canines are terrible. Will be having a dental soon, already had one when she had a hernia repaired. Jago at nine has lost his little teeth at front, recent dental, but the rest are like a badgers

Brody's teeth are in great shape and well seated. BUT ... he is missing half of them. I counted once and I think he has 20? He has half the amount he should have. They just never came in.

What a shame, he has quite a long muzzle too Just shows, you just don't know how their dentition will be I guess!

Oakley has a short muzzle, but its not a smooshy one or anything, but I do know the lines and they just don't have deep enough roots on the teeth-its common knowledge to get a CH on them before 2 years of age or teeth will be gone and they do fault young dogs for missing teeth looking for its CH - I know Bryco lost a time or two b'c of his missing one, but once you get a dog 3 or 4 years old in a full coat competing for it's grand and it has like no teeth left yet they will put it up over a young dog with full dentition for variety lol. It really is odd.
But yeah, white, healthy teeth don't indicate long or short roots. So while it shouldn't surprise me it still sucks because I do take such good care of her mouth! I hate it when they lose incisors haha b'c its so obvious, once they lose most of them, their tongues stick out!
A healthy adult tooth won't just be knocked out by tug of war or something she'd have to have knocked it pretty hard. She does have a tiny muzzle, narrower, and quite short, so I'm sure that has something to do with it.
