Haha Kristi thats a ad campaign that Pedigree have for their dentastix at the moment... doggy dentures! They made a sort of spoof QVC (tele-shopping) segment too. It was quite funny.

Oh gosh, how awful. I didn't know it was fairly common for them to lose teeth that are well cared for, and we all know how well you care for them. That's a downer. Does she still jump a lot? Maybe she knocked it somehow?

She could have knocked it, I'm sure, she is our wild child haha. But I really just think she doesn't have great roots on those front incisors...

Thats a shame about oakley, I had read somewhere that in making the muzzles shorter, and also a lot less deep that the roots of the teeth have shortened so they just aren't anchored in by enough. Eva's bottom teeth are sooo tiny the botton incisors barely poke up over the gumline, I was shocked when I first saw them I never knew chihuahuas teeth could be so small! I guess thats the one thing thats good about Feo, he has good solid teeth and I seriously cant see them ever falling out.

Oh Hollie where did you read that? How interesting!!
I'm really proud of lotus teeth they are solid straight and White but then her muzzle is slightly longer than some we see! Am hoping it's in the lines as leilani has a smaller wider muzzle

Maxie lost one of his adult teeth when he was 2. There wasn't anything wrong with it that I could tell...it just got wiggley & fell out. He's got a couple chipped teeth too (probably from beef bones when I gave them which I don't anymore). They've always been quite clean & tartar free...just not one of his strong points I guess.

Yeah some just have poor dentition. The teeth can look perfectly healthy and then just fall out! As far as I can tell that's what's going on w/ Oakley, I hope most of them stay in for awhile yet, but I've been told by multiple chi people that by 5 or 6 they have no incisors left!

Brody's teeth are in great shape and well seated. BUT ... he is missing half of them. I counted once and I think he has 20? He has half the amount he should have. They just never came in. What a shame, he has quite a long muzzle too Just shows, you just don't know how their dentition will be I guess! I don't think that Brody has "quite a long muzzle". But perhaps I am wrong? (It's an inch from the tip of his nose to his stop. And no, I didn't specifically take this pic for this thread. This is from a thread awhile back.) Anyway, here's a close up of his teeth and while the teeth he has are firm and well seated, he is missing most/all of his premolars. As you can see, he is quite undershot. Here's a pic of a normal dogs teeth -
