I have spoken to the vet and the operation appears to have gone well. The break had started to heal but the bones were out of alignment. He has prised them apart put them straight and pinned them straight. He says he can see no reason why he shouldn't make a good recovery. If all goes well he should be able to come home on wednesday.

I have just spoken to the vet again and he says he can not see any reason why he can't come home tomorrow night
